It's the year 2000, and things haven't been going so well for Tobe Hooper. For, like, fifteen years. So when he gets a chance to do something different, with some actual money behind it (nearly $3 million, apparently), he takes a chance.

Crocodile basically tries to cross-breed Scream with Lake Placid, with decidedly mixed results. I've seen worse animals in various SyFy movies, and Tobe wisely doesn't even try to hide Croc's shortcomings, just letting him all hang out for the most part.

Nope, the main problem is with the Scream teens. Most of them are totally unlikeable, and the ones we're supposed to care about are dry white toast on legs.

However, this is better lensed than most movies of this ilk, and there's enough with, visual and verbal, to make this worth your 90 minutes, if only to see what Hooper was up to during Y2K.

Well... this movie isn't that good on special efx, but its enjoyable for a wile. Sometimes that crocodile looked like a floating board in the water, and is eyes didn't move to visualize its next victim. Except for one scene where the surviving teens are walking on the swamp's forest and the crocodile opens its eyes and observes it's preys. The computer animated crocodile looked silly

Wen the crocodile is on land we only see it's head or it's tail. The acting and diallogue was good so as the story. It has its scares, and you shall like this one if you are a reptile movie lover, so rent it buy it or record it on DVD. Typical early 00s monster fair. It has the usual annoying characters, and at times cringe CGI, but, is lifted above the usual sci fi channel movie by some good practical croc effects and some semi competent Tobi Hooper directing.
