Pathetic Egomaniacal Worm: PEW

Just looking at his chiseled features, hairless body, Jimboy physique I knew going in that he couldn't get it up for his fiancé because he liked men.

Then, no pun intended. A hot man, a spy to boot, literally falls into his lap- They have rather parsimoniously filmed sex - Cristian realizes he hast to be "out" taking love life advice from a foreign spook- who advises him to put aside his work and focus on his relationship... So he let his cell phone ring with his partner desperately texting for back up, well, he's closing his eyes fantasizing about *Andrew, Well, boning his fiancé in the backseat of a car... only to find out that Andrew was castrated by Russian spies, who mailed his gentle to his MI5 boss... His boss is a real piece of work too. She claims this spineless wimp closet case narcissist is "her best man"--- the rest of the movie even watching this milk toast worm is aggravating... He continues to wank to the memory of that one night of sex with andrew- but comes out to his fiancé is gay, almost predictively she tells them that she's pregnant from the backseat tryst.

If Christian and andrew had had more gratuitous grsphic sex, and at least some time to get to know Andrew better, it's still wouldn't have mattered, because Cristian is such a detestable character.

A bit jarring and definitely not very romantic

The movie starts a bit slow. Was much more focused on the sky aspect than I expected. Not that it's a problem. However, when the shimmers of romance came through it felt like it fell a bit short on the passion and expectation. It takes quite a turn and then feels a bit anti-climax. If not a bit of a tragedy.

They definitely wrote in a lot of stupid things that will likely annoy you. But Christian felt quite human and attractive at first. His character gets written a bit badly though. In the end the emotions fall flat. I had hopes cause this was a sexy scenario and 2 hunks, but alas, a bit flat. The low budget does shine through but the acting isn't bad, it's mostly the lighting and empty areas that give you that strange depressing vibe that comes from these low budget films. I think if these characters were given a chance in a bit of a different story it could've been really good. The spy thriller is still an interesting take and glad that it exists though. The more variety in this genre, the better.

Interesting and not without merit

This film is an attempt to make a full-length action spy thriller on a truly microscopic budget. The miracle is therefore that it exists at all, and intense criticism of its technical merits is a bit beside the point. Very basic film and sound recording lead to rather static and stagey acting, but the unreal dramatics in very real settings is disturbing and quite effective. The story puts an unusual human perspective on an otherwise rather standard cold-war spy-craft plot. The general message that suppressed human fallibilities stuff up even the most important and deadly of government functions is well-demonstrated: this is a very British kind of story, and the absence of the comedy with which this sort of sorry tale is usually served up increases its impact.

Arron Blake's performance stands out, and although hard going in parts this film is a remarkable achievement.
